To begin, head to Crone Wood Carpark. Once there, follow the trail located at the back of the carpark and take the first left turn. From here, continue straight along the path until you reach the finish.

The trail is largely straight-forward. No guessing needed, just follow along the way. The first 2km are uphill but you’ll reach a viewpoint over the top of Powerscourt waterfall.

The next 2 km will bring you over the top of the waterfall to a stream. From here, there’s a tough 3.5km uphill to the Djouce peak at 700m. It’s usually blustery up here, so it’s more for the sense of achievement than hanging around.

Follow the trail back and you can have a break at the top of the waterfall.

The views from 9-11km are phenomenal. You’ll see the Powerscourt country estate as well as the sugarloaf.
